Always. Even in the backseat.

I've worn it so much, it feels odd not to have it on.

Yes since I heard of ticket or click it.
Some have said their state can't stop you for that ALONE. But if they want to enforce it can allways find another reason and then you get charged for 2 things.
It's no big deal anymore.

I used to not wear one when in the back seat thinking the seat in front of me will stop me in a collision. That doesn't keep you from flying out of the car in a rollover. I always wear a seat belt.

One exception was when I was in Phuket, Thailand and riding in the tuk-tuk's. Those are little buses with bench seats on them. They don't go over 40 mph but even still I should have insisted on riding in one with seat belts.

I hate wearing a seatbelt, I was born when kids sat up in the back seat, I never got use to wearing one , I rarely am the passenger though...I bought a sports car to be free, not harnessed in, I'll take my chances...

I've been rung up about 5 times over the yrs too.

Never. And yesterday they got me. :suomi: No, not a crash and burn. Been there. Yesterday I was going through a busy intersection. Next thing I see is mr. biker cop with blue and red right on my tail. That's the first time they saw me before I saw them. I pull over hand him my license and wait about 5 minutes. He comes back gives me a ticket and says, "please wear your belt." Because you care? Yeah right. He also said I could apply for seat belt school/re-education class aka blood and guts 101. Been there.

Like J-man, I grew up never wearing a seat belt. As a young child, I often sat in the front seat of our crappy gremlin. As tempted as I am to go on a diatribe about this whole issue, I can't at the moment due to time constraints.
The seat belt harrassment/law is one of the few things I am passionate about. You can even find a thread from me the Auto forum. If you live in Nevada, I suggest you read it.

I very rarely wear a seatbealt, and never while im driving. If I do wear a seatbelt its a dead giveaway to the driver that I am not a fan of their skills behind the wheel.

Ever since I got into a bad car accident and emerged unscathed while not wearing a seatbelt, I have chosen not to wear one.

I also dont like wearing my seatbelt on planes and never do. If im going to desperately need a seatbelt on a plane, chances are I wont be around to worry about the consequences of not wearing one.

just another way for our govt to take away our right to choose and make a ton of money off of us...just like BS emmisions law where brand new cars are put into the same category and forced to pay a fee to have their cars checked for emmisions...I'd like to know how many 2-3 yr old cars have actually failed the emmissions test?

I realize seatbelts do save lives and in most cases SHOULD be worn, it should be up to the individual though, like I said "I am willing to take my chances" I don't like to ride in my car strapped in, its not comfortable and I wanna be hapy when I driving my car....had I been born within the last 20 years I'd have no problem wearing one...

This should be like that old NHL helmet rule if you played before a certain time you had the option not to.

As mentioned , I always wear a seatbelt, but I do I agree that it is a bullshit law. How one person chooses to live there life I believe is up to them. I do not believe you are putting anyone but yourself at risk by not wearing a seatbelt.
Pretty much the same goes for the helmet law. I think you're nuts to ride a mototcycyle without a helmet, but I firmly believe that is your choice.

And while we are at it...no smoking in a bar???? Gimme a f'ing break. I don't smoke, never have, and hate being around it. But telling bar patrons that they can't smoke in a bar to me is just ridiculous.

when i was in sevilla, spain back in 1993, my girlfriend at the time went to visit her family in malaga. she and a friend got into an accident. she was in the passenger's side and was not wearing her seatbelt. died from being thrown from the car.

she was 20, gorgeous and the sweetest thing. I was the last man to be with her and was the night before she died.

it still affects me to this day. not only will i drive with one, but those that are in a car with me must have one on.

sorry to bum you out, just wanted to share an important story on why seatbelts are very important.

I've gotten used to wearing mine because a friend of mine wasnt wearing his and was in a wreck. He was in the back seat and was thrown through the windshield, it broke his jaw in 29 places, among other broken bones he nearly died. When he finally could talk, the first thing he told me, with tears in his eyes ,was to always wear your seat belt. I took it to heart.

A few years back three of my friends were in a pretty bad wreck on the interstate. 1 was wearing a seatbelt, 2 were not. One of the 2 not wearing his belt ruptured his spleen and broke his pelvis. The other guy who didn't wear his seatbelt broke his neck and is now paralyzed from the nipples down. The guy who wore his seatbelt sprained his knee.

You do the math...
